  • About The Education Committee
    Updated On: Jan 08, 2019

The Education Committee is dedicated to increasing the skill level of all members of IATSE Local 122. Chaired by the Education Coordinator and the IATSE 122 Vice President, the Education Committee is made up of IATSE 122 members from each department and specialty that IATSE 122 represents. Classes are organized by the department committees, office staff, and individuals who have skills and training that they are able to share with the membership. This dedication is devoted to over-all stage techniques, as well as specific skill specializations. The Education Committee has a direct interest in both the Pre-Apprentice (Intern) and Apprentice programs. The general approach to this committee is to help everyone's experience, through education and encouragement, become a positive one, for both the employee and the employer.

All testing for Local 122 is handled through the education committee. For more information about member tests for Local 122, please see Testing Information. Tests are developed for the specific needs of our industry and are divided into department specific areas.

Due to the specific nature of the Education Committee and it's direct connection to Local 122's required tests, all committee members must be Journeyman Members of Local 122. Those members wishing to contribute, please contact the Education Committee, or check the calendar for information on the next education committee and join us.

For information regarding education or exam fee funding, or class organization, please see the San Diego Theatrical Training Trust Fund page.
